Properties: Vetiver is also known as the 'oil of tranquility' because of its calming properties. Vetiver oil calms and soothes the mind, thus helping with nervous tension and stress. It settles the nerves and establishes a feeling of balance and grounding. Psychological problems may also respond where this too much sensitivity and openness. It balances and provides a sedative effect on the central nervous system.. It helps center people and assist them easing off tranquilizers.

The sedative action makes it very helpful in cases of physical and mental exhaustion. It revitalizes the body by fortifying red blood corpuses and, as a result, boost the transport of oxygen in the blood. Vetiver may be useful in cases of rheumatism and arthritis.

Reputedly a tonic to the reproductive system, its relaxing property has a beneficial effect on tension underlying sexual problems. It may help with sexual dysfunction on an emotional and mental level. In addition it helps promote sleep and is use full in cases of insomnia. It may have a healing effect on acne and support the skin generally.

Vetiver oil could be effective for rheumatism, arthritis and muscular aches and pains and could also be useful with insomnia.

Contra-Indications:

Non-toxic, non-irritant, non-sensitizing. Very mild and safe to use.
