Johrei Healing

Johrei is very similar to reiki, which is the reason why I have grouped this with reiki. Johrei is a method which enables the focusing of universal energy or Light, directly toward the spiritual body. We refer to this action as effortlessly bringing the soul into its own. Until now, there has not been any sure method of attaining spiritual, mental and physical health. The cause of human misery, clouds on the spiritual body, was not yet discovered. Even if cause had been discovered, how to eradicate misery would have remained a problem.

Practitioner's believe that the way to eliminate misery is to dispel the clouds from the spiritual body with the invisible spiritual energy, the healing Light of God. Those who have had personal experience with Johrei know how truly powerful the Light is.

In regard to healing through Johrei, the thing that many people wonder about is that in the beginning it works regardless of whether one receives it skeptically, with resistance, or just on a trial basis. In faith healings of the past, people were usually told, "You must believe this. You should have no doubt." It is quite natural for those who have been used to this kind of approach to wonder how Johrei can work at any time with or without faith.

To tell a person to believe he or she has experienced any result is to encourage self-deception in that person. Needless to say, this is wrong. It is impractical for anyone to believe something before that individual has received any proof. Of course, by making an effort to believe because of being told by the healer to do so, the receiver experiences a slightly more successful result from the treatment than there would have been if it had been received with doubt, but that kind of result is not God-given; it is only people-produced, according to the power of the individual's mind.

The fact that healing is effected through Johrei, even though an individual receives Johrei skeptically at first, means that God's power is so strong it is not necessary to attempt to add a person's power to supplement it. God is total Love. As your own faith grows, you experience fewer mishaps until you reach a level where you begin to have constant peace of mind and so become a truly happy and fortunate individual.

What is the process of Johrei?

You will be invited to sit comfortably facing the Johrei person. You may join the person (giver) focusing the energy in a silent prayer, opening yourself to the universal energy for purifying you in spirit, mind and body. The giver thanks the Divine source for the opportunity to serve and asks that the Light blesses you. The energy is directed towards your forehead, upper chest and abdominal area from the front for five to ten minutes You are asked to face the opposite direction for about another fifteen minutes. The energy is directed from the top of your head to the center of your head and down the spine, then to the back of your head and on to the left, then right shoulders. The process continues down the back concentrating on the spiritual body that corresponds to the heart, stomach, left and right kidney and lower back areas of the physical body. You are asked to face the front once again and you can join the giver in a final silent prayer of gratitude.

Universal Energy, or the Divine Light, when focused on the spiritual body of an individual dispels clouds or negativity, from the spiritual body and raises the spiritual vibration, thereby causing reactions in the spiritual, mental and physical bodies. When these clouds are dispelled, the spirit is uplifted and the divine nature unfolds itself more and more, causing the finest spiritual qualities of the individual to come to the fore. The mind is properly focused, relieving it from confusion.

When clouds are dispelled from the spiritual body, toxins in the physical body dissolve and are eliminated to a large extent. Pain or discomfort felt by the individual is part of the purifying process and Johrei accelerates this process, bringing it to an end more quickly than it would terminate otherwise.

The use of Universal spiritual energy is not limited to human beings. Many plants which have been weakened from insect blights, extremes of weather or other destructive forces have been revived through Johrei, and the quality of the soil itself has been improved. When the seeds and the soil have become sufficiently purified, a considerable improvement is seen in the quality and quantity of crops too.

Any individual, when properly prepared, can focus this universal energy. The intensity may differ according to the level of the individual awareness, but it is possible for any individual to focus it effectively.
